Plastic Surgery is traditionally separated into two major types: Cosmetic Surgery, which involves improving the appearance and beauty of an individual; and reconstructive Surgery, which corrects disfigurement caused by birth defects. These two specialisations are inextricably linked as all Reconstructive Surgery aims to recreate a patient's body surface, i.e. their outward appearance. So-called Cosmetic Surgery can only be practiced by experienced Surgeons with training in reconstructive Surgery. At the Clinique Générale-Beaulieu all the Surgeons practising Cosmetic Surgery (7 in all) are fully qualified as both cosmetic and reconstructive Surgeons.
Clinique Générale-Beaulieu is the only private institution in Switzerland where university lecturers (Professors and visiting lecturers) regularly operate on their patients. Various Surgeons and a renowned Maxillofacial Surgeon often collaborate here. Each year a post-graduate course is held on a specific subject at the Clinique Générale-Beaulieu. Cosmetic operations are broadcast to the conference room where about fifty Swiss and foreign Specialists are gathered. The Clinic has thus become a centre of reference in this field. Whatever the patient’s individual problem, we will be able to provide an appropriately qualified specialist and meet their specific needs.
The operations most often performed in Plastic Surgery at the Clinic are Surgery of the skin around the Eyes, Nose Surgery (Rhino Plastic), Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery, Surgery on the external parts of the Ear, anti-ageing treatments for the face, Breast Surgery (augmentation, reduction and reconstruction after cancer), Surgery on the Abdominal Wall, Lipoplasty, etc
As these operations are performed in a big hospital that also treats the severely ill, all of our safety measures are available should they be needed, ensuring the greatest comfort for everyone.
