Urology is an important part of the activity carried out at Clinique Générale-Beaulieu. Thanks to state-of-the-art equipment and team of specialists, the clinic is able to offer high-quality services in all areas of this discipline:
Treatment of prostate cancer
Since 2003, Clinique Générale-Beaulieu has been a pioneer and leader in robot-assisted surgery of prostate cancer using the Da Vinci ® robot. The acquisition of this technology was the logical follow-up to the development of minimally invasive prostate cancer surgery. These procedures, which follow the principle of keyhole surgery, were carried out for the first time in our establishment in Switzerland in March 1999.
Endoscopic surgery of the prostate and bladder
In the case of patients presenting with benign enlargement of the prostate or bladder polyps, the benefit of a natural approach is inevitable: no scar, no pain and a short stay in hospital. The Clinique Générale-Beaulieu operates a full technical platform: high-definition cameras, integrated video operating theatres and bipolar and laser resectors.
Treatment of urinary stones
In 2008, the Clinique Générale-Beaulieu acquired its first digital flexible ureteroscope for the laser treatment of kidney and ureteral stones. More recently, the CGB has purchased a new SONOLITH lithotripter, which ensures the external destruction of kidney stones. The equipment has been refurbished as part of a new concept for the emergency management of urinary stones.
Male fertility and andrological surgery
Problems of male fertility are dealt with using a multidisciplinary approach by the centre for medically assisted procreation. Procedures for collecting spermatozoid samples with a view to in-vitro fertilisation (MESA or TESE) are carried out using the latest generation operating microscopes.
The Da Vinci robot is used for repermeabilisation procedures following vasectomy or in the case of epididymal malformation (vaso-epididymostomy).
Andrological surgery is essentially represented by the implantation of penile prostheses or revascularization of the penis in the event of erectile dysfunction.
