Orthopaedics and traumatology

Orthopaedics and traumatology are mainly surgical disciplines concerned with degenerative and trauma-related diseases of the musculoskeletal system and spine, i.e. all the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles that are responsible for movement.

Orthopaedics is used in many cases:

  • Bone fractures of the limbs or spine
  • Joint dislocations
  • Muscle tears
  • Bone tumours and infections or advanced osteoarthritis (of the hip and/or knee) in which the joint is partially or completely replaced by a prosthesis

Mako robot

In line with its commitment to excellence and its spirit of innovation, Clinique Générale-Beaulieu has performed Mako robotic-assisted procedures since 2019 for patients requiring partial or total knee replacement surgery. This technology benefits both the patient and surgeon. The hospital stay and recovery have been reported to be shorter compared to conventional surgery. The Mako robot allows the orthopaedic surgeon to operate with greater precision and consistency.
